We had everything pointed to Sherry taking me to the Surgicenter at 2:00 today (Monday) for Dr. Burt and team to remove the beautiful but dangerous little bush in my bladder. However, I just got a call (9:30) from Dr. Burt that pneumothorax makes anesthesia unsafe, so surgery will be postponed for a couple of weeks.
It’s odd to have this much cancer in my body but no symptoms or discomfort at all. That along with a positive medical prognosis and God’s word to me, “This is not the end. Keep on with what you are doing” leaves me in a good place, sleeping well and doing what I love.
Julie Vawser sent me the song Aaron Keyes – Sovereign Over Us for meditation. I highly recommend it for everyone.
Im praying for you Gerry! And so do Phil and Phoebe. We love you and you are a huge part of our life stories. Trusting Jesus to make the supernatural healing miracle to your body and granting your doctors the wisdom they need. Amen!
Thank you, Hala, Phil and Phoebe
Praying for healing and restoration for your body.
Thank you, Taylor
Praying for you and your family. So glad that you aren’t feeling pain. God is good and gracious in all things.
Thank you, Dean!
Thank you for the update, Gerry. I will continue to pray for the pneumothorax to go away so that things can continue to progress. Glad you aren’t feeling physical symptoms and that sleep is coming easy.
When and if you need some meditative music for devotional time, here is a link to an album of hymns I made a while back that apparently has become a “go to” for people I know going through physical sicknesses. Hope it helps among all the other options you have: https://open.spotify.com/album/0xjjXgy11OrJSILlLMVs0v?si=Zy6EmwkoSbC02q8RRJbGYg
So good. Thank you. I’ll give a listen in my morning time with Jesus
Praise God for the peace He has given you! Thank you for sharing ❤️🩹🙏🏼
Thank you, Tara. The mission of Jesus is like Isa. 61. Blessing to you and Steve
Love your attitude and the fact that you are sleeping well is conformation of deep belief that manifests in deep trust. Praying with you brother!
Thank you, Tom. Your prayers are so important to me
Our hearts are “All In” in interceding for you dear, treasured friend.
Thank you, Alan. You are indeed a treasured friend
YAY for a positive prognosis! So happy about that!!!
Jana and I have been following your journey and praying for you. It brings back many memories of my own path. I am inspired by your faith and so glad to hear our God is holding you close. During my journey there were times of uncertainty as the doctors determined the best path forward, and sometimes that meant waiting. I was not so good at waiting, but a friend sent me a song that became my anthem. “I’m no longer a slave to fear” is the song, and to this day it helps bring me peace. Being a techno idiot I can’t figure out how to post it here but hope the words and music will comfort you too. God bless and we will continue to lift you in prayer.
Thank you for your encouragement and the song line I’m no longer a slave to fear”. It is powerful!
Continuing to intercede in prayer on your behalf!
The medical field is full of starts and stops with lots of WAITING in between. I picked up on the lyric in the song “You are working in the waiting.” It reminded me that from God’s perspective there is a lot going on even if we aren’t aware of it. How wonderful that you have no pain or symptoms that would disrupt you from your current activities! I will pray the pneumothorax heals properly so other interventions can proceed. Jana
These are very wise words, Jana
Praying for you and Praising God for you.
Thank you, Ann!
I am “agreeing with you“ that this is not the end.
In my devotional reading this morning I read, “Let your mind reverberate with the meanings of my names: Jesus – the Lord saves and Emmanuel – God with us… Talk with me about whatever delights you, whatever upsets you, whatever is on your mind.”
Amen and amen!
Hi Gerry! I didn’t know all of this was going on. I got a text from someone this morning say “So sad to hear about Gerry Breshears” which prompted quite a scare in my heart. What did I miss?! My mind jumped to the worst case scenario. Thankfully you are still here and I am utterly relieved. Just wanted you to know how much you mean to me! I learned so much from you in Theology for counselors this last year and I hope you stick around for quite some time. You are top of my list of teachers to lean on as I enter the counseling field. You are a blessing to thousands! Praying over you and Sherri today.
What an encouraging and delightful response, Lauren. So glad for our class and the blessing it was to me
Some men sing to lead in worship of Him. With soft lighting, candles, ear pieces, perfect piano playing, tempo, inflection, and rises. Some men post about surgeries and keeping on to worship him.
Certainly praying with and for you.
Thank you, Bob
So grateful for you example of perseverance and faith while walking through a valley. Much love Gerry. We’re praying for you daily.
We both know about valley’s Daniel!
